The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Job Description
The Software Test Engineer I is responsible for a range of testing activities including maintaining test suites, executing test scenarios manually, developing automated tests and implementing them in industry standard testing frameworks. The Software Test Engineer provides testing guidance and plays a role in providing advice to the team while monitoring emerging technologies. Your Role:
- Writes, debugs, and executes code used in automated testing efforts.
- Maintains test automation frameworks and recommends and implements improvements to the test automation framework(s).
- Participates in the testing efforts for manual and automated activities across supported applications.
- Contributes to the SDLC testing strategy, test data management strategy, and quality of the supported applications.
- Responsible for championing the defect lifecycle for found defects.
- Responsible for API testing strategy, including creating, maintaining, and updating documentation of the API routes.
- Responsible for updating, and maintaining an object-oriented automation structure
- Understands the challenges that delivery and operations teams face in their day-to-day work and partners with the team to design viable solutions.
- Recommends improvements to testing processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team’s testing and reduces technical debt.
- Responsible for following the Performance testing strategy, including creating and updating performance tests
- Implements, and manages processes and best practices for automated testing.
What We Look For:
- Experience coding in C# (strongly preferred) or Java
- 1 – 3 years of working experience in an SDLC environment
- AWS knowledge or similar cloud experience
- Working experience with Writing, debugging, and executing code used in automated testing efforts.
- Working experience in software development and/or testing
- Working experience with software testing tools and processes
- Working experience with using and testing within automated frameworks
- Working experience with consumer-facing applications and databases
- Working experience of scripting and configuration tools
- Working experience in Micro services architecture and testing restful API’s
- Working knowledge of performance test strategies on web or mobile applications
- Working knowledge of coding standards and best practices
- Expresses the willingness to learn new things and challenge themselves
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field
