License and Certification Qualifications:
- Must be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Required
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications:
- 3 years of school leadership and/or 8 years of demonstrated effective communication and advocacy for diverse populations Required
- Experience working with youth and family development, developing community partnerships, and community engagement initiatives Preferred
- 1 year of experience teaching adult learners Preferred
Skills Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to coach and teach individuals and groups
- Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive demeanor in various situations
- Ability to analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement
- Effective organization and planning in a collaborative environment
- Ability to speak, write, and translate fluently in English and Spanish preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for fostering partnerships, aligning resources, analyzing data, and supporting coordinators to ensure effective community schools programs for all stakeholders.
- Work within the Office of Community Schools to provide resources, training, and support to Community School Coordinators (CSC) throughout the district.
- Model and support the implementation of Needs Assessments/mapping of under-served students and families in Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS). Based on needs and gaps of each school population.
- Tailor training for the CSC (Community School Coordinator) that supports the Community School strategy.
- Build partnerships with community organizations that provide services to GCPS students' families.
- Provide resources and models for shared leaders practices with Community School Coordinators, Principals, and local school leadership to include diverse members of the community and local partners.
- Measure and monitor impact on student outcomes through implementation of a multi-tiered system of support and appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Meet regularly with assigned Community School Coordinators to increase their leadership capacity in implementing the Coalition of Community Schools strategy.
- Support the implementation of integrated student support to include wrap-around services for each student in the assigned clusters.
- Support the implementation of expanded and enriched learning opportunities for each student in the assigned clusters.
- Support the facilitation of increased family and community engagement that reflects every family in the assigned clusters.
- Support the facilitation of collaborative leadership practices in the implementation of wrap-around services for each family in the assigned clusters.
- Meet regularly with current and potential community partners .
- Develop expanded learning and enrichment opportunities for each student in GCPS.
- Vet vendors and potential partners to provide access and opportunities for each community member to become engaged stakeholders in Gwinnett County Public Schools.
- Develop processes and procedures for implementation and sustainability in schools.
- Practice highly effective social emotional skills.
- Demonstrate appropriate and effective body language in communicating the message.
- Cultivate and sustain effective relationships.
- Continually seek growth and development in culturally relevant practices.
- Foster leadership development of others.
- Work closely with school principals and community schools coordinators to integrate community schools strategy into school operation and culture.
- Represent the community school initiative at district meetings, community events and stakeholders' gatherings.
- Assist in data collection, reporting and evaluation to assess program impact and support decision-making.
- Support director in ensuring a strong and consistent implementation of school strategy across all schools.
- Model professionalism through:
- Personal research and development of collaborative leadership practices.
- Receiving constructive feedback from others, including those who are not your direct supervisors.
- Research current best practices for increasing agency and shared ownership among students and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
