Control Technician - Priva and ALC Systems
Bayer Facility, Woodland, CA
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Control Technician specializing in Priva and ALC systems to join our team at the Bayer facility in Woodland, California. Under the Direction of the Chief Facilities Engineer The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting building automation systems to ensure optimal facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and maintain Priva and ALC building & Green House automation systems
- Monitor and optimize environmental controls for temperature, humidity, lighting, and ventilation
- Perform preventative maintenance on control systems and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with BAS components and software
- Configure and calibrate sensors, controllers, and other system components
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operations manuals
- Document system changes, maintenance activities, and operational parameters
- Respond to emergency calls and system alarms as needed
- Collaborate with facility management and maintenance teams to improve system efficiency
- Train facility staff on basic system operations and troubleshooting
- Some wrench time will be required for this role
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working with Priva and/or Johnson Controls Metasys, Web Control or other ALC systems
- Strong understanding of DDC (Direct Digital Control) systems and protocols
- Experience with HVAC control systems and principles
- Proficiency in programming and configuring BAS components
- Knowledge of networking concepts and TCP/IP communications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Building Automation, HVAC, or related field
- Experience in agricultural or research facility environments
- Familiarity with additional building automation platforms (Siemens, Honeywell, etc.)
- Experience with integrating multiple control systems
- Knowledge of energy management and optimization techniques
- BAS certification or relevant industry credentials
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Capacity to work in various environmental conditions
- Manual dexterity for equipment installation and repair
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces when necessary
Work Environment
- Full-time position with occasional on-call emergency responsibilities
- May require periodic weekend or evening hours for system upgrades or emergency repairs
- Primary work location is the Bayer facility in Woodland, CA
- Position may require travel to other Bayer sites as needed

Estimated total compensation for this position:
