Position Summary
The Gravity Haus Staff Accountant is responsible for the performance of accounting-related duties and will work closely with the Controllers, SVP of Finance & Accounting and CFO to achieve organizational goals. Reporting to Gravity Haus SVP Finance and Accounting, you’ll work closely with the finance, accounting and operations teams to execute, streamline and create efficiencies in the company’s approach to all things finance and accounting with a goal of providing accurate and useful information to company leadership and investors.

What You’ll Do
- Own the bank reconciliation preparation across multiple properties with a focus on real-time processing
- Assist with timely financial statement preparation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable processing, daily revenue and cash reconciliations and other related finance projects.
- General ledger journal entries to record monthly activity
- Accounts payable invoice, payment processing and review
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
- State and local operational tax filings
- Support and assist the processing of biweekly, multi-state payroll with payroll partners including balancing and reconciling all payroll figures.
- Maintain lead schedule for all capital in progress.
- Assist with the filing and maintenance of contracts, leases and other legal and financial records.
- Support the audit processes through the preparation and submission of requested deliverables

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of two years in accounting and finance experience is preferred.
- CPA or progress towards completing is preferred.
- Previous experience working with Sage Intacct and Plate IQ or similar software is desirable.
- Work experience in the hospitality industry is strongly preferred specifically in the hotel and restaurant industries.
