About the Position:

The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Food Production Worker A in our Training Division at State Police Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will prepare food items in the State Police Academy cafeteria in accordance with State Police dining room procedures and Department of Health regulations while you work closely with the Academy staff and provide a positive, helpful, and friendly environment for our basic students as well as sworn and civilian staff members.

Minimum Qualifications

•Working knowledge of standard food preparation methods used in preparing and serving a variety of foods from fresh, canned, dry, or frozen; of cleaning and sanitation methods used in a food service environment; of food storage methods; and of basic arithmetic.
•Demonstrated ability to prepare, assemble and serve a variety of foods; work rapidly and efficiently in performing job duties; work cohesively with peers, supervisors, and customers; apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene; to read, write, and communicate in English; and demonstrate excellent customer service skills on an ongoing basis.
•Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted; stand and walk on concrete and tile floors for long periods of time; and work in refrigerated areas.
•High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ability to obtain a GED within six months from hire.

Additional Considerations

•ServSafe certification preferred.
