About the role

Admissions Counselor Responsibilities:

  • Conduct physical assessment of patient during intake.
  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies and procedures.
  • Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.
  • Assist prospective patients and significant others in seeking treatment. • Coordinate with referral sources.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social services field required (if state allows).
  • Master's degree in a social services field (psychology, counseling, social work, sociology, health administration, nursing) or RN preferred.
  • Three or more years’ experience in mental/behavioral health working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity preferred.
  • Experience in the managed care pre-certification process, level of care assessments and utilization preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • LMSW, LPC, MFT, RN, or similar licensure; required from the state of Missouri for this position
