UnspecifiedRohr Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineering Operations in Riverside, Ca. Less than 10% domestic and international travel is required to provide programming support to the company's other facilities.

What YOU will do
• Prepare and develop numerical programs used to drive NC and CNC equipment/machines/robots with minimal supervision.
• Interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
• Use Catia and CAD/CAM software to model cutting paths, program machines accordingly and simulate part programs.
• Create inspection programs to ensure products meet design specifications.
• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.
• Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly.
• Liaise closely with manufacturing, quality and operations in the planning, design, development and utilization of NC programs.
• Create work instructions for machinists to load/unload machined parts onto CNC equipment and also specify cutters used to machine parts.
• Interface with operations team from various value streams for communication on new program requests and immediate needs.
• Ensure sequences in manufacturing processes and product builds are followed and comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
• Investigate root cause of process failures or quality issues and develops go-forward approach.
• Use data analytics / statistical process control (SPC) for productivity, First Pass Yield (FPY) and business unit targets and improvement.
• Engage in problem solving initiatives & challenges status quo (e.g. root cause and corrective action investigations, OEE, FPY, customer escapes).
• Interface with fellow manufacturing engineers, structures design engineers, engineering management, operations, shop floor personnel, and external vendors.
• Work with other senior manufacturing technical staff in cross-discipline technical initiatives involving design, quality, equipment, testing, Material Review Board (MRB) and Materials & Process engineers.
• Participate and contribute on Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control build plans.
• Identify opportunities on drawings and specifications to influence changes to engineering designs and line balancing.
• Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible for automated equipment.
• Participate in process improvement and continuous improvement activities.
• Implements results of lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Implement process improvements by applying various engineering applications such as: robotics, automation and simulation.
• Participate in digital manufacturing solutions with support from digital subject matter experts.
• This position supervises 4 employees: 1 Staff Technician – Engineering Services, 1 Manufacturing Engineer – Operations, and 2 Principal Manufacturing Engineers – Operations.
Qualifications You Must Have
• Must possess a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience in a role designing tooling and/or programming for composite manufacturing processes and equipment.
• At least 5 years of experience with CATIA
• At least 5 years of experience using CATIA V5/V6 and 3DExperience Software Suite
• At least 3 years of experience using CATIA’s Composite Workbench
• At least 3 years of experience with project management
• At least 3 years of experience interpreting material and process specifications, engineering drawings, technical reports, manuals, and work instructions
• At least 3 years of experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions
• At least 1 year of managerial experience.
