Job Description: In this role, the Clinical Support Specialist has the responsibility to work cooperatively with other administrative and clinical staff members to manage client communication and needs, whether on the phone or in person. This position has oversight of all processes involving client records from data entry to release of information to archiving. In this particular role, the primary task is supporting outpatient psychiatric services. These tasks may include assistance with scheduling, prior authorizations, client communication, medication refill requests, documentation review, and collateral contact with pharmacies, insurance companies, and laboratory services. Candidates with experience working with prescribers, and knowledge of insurance companies and processes are preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills are a must. Bilingual candidates are also preferred.
Schedule Details: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Exton, PA
Program: Clinical Support Services
Pay Rate: $17+/hour
Job Functions:
- Responsible for supporting the providers (Psychiatrists and CRNPs) with scheduling Psychiatric/Diagnostic Evaluations, medication management services
- Responsible for compiling and coordinating prescriber schedules
- Responsible for organizing documentation within the EMR for appointments
- Responsible for data entry of all collateral documentation for psychiatric services in electronic records including the Clozapine Registry, PDMP, and other collateral services
- Responsible for communicating client medical issues to prescribers effectively and accurately, and completing prior authorizations
- Responsible for assisting with CSS reporting requirements for the county and other payers, and securing insurance eligibility verifications
- Responsible for assisting with front desk coverage including answering the phone, client check-in, and receiving payment for services
- Responsible to be an active and collaborative member of a cohesive and supportive team
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: One year experience in a medical or mental health care office setting or other professional business office setting including customer service and data entry within the human services field
Licensure/Certifications: None Required, Bilingual candidates preferred
Clearances: Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal clearance, and verification that the employee is not on any Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion list
Note: At the discretion of the Personnel Officer, additional related experience and/or education may be substituted instead of the requirements specified under Education and Experience
