About the role

Job Description

Legal Operations Enablement Manager - Chicago, IL

THE ROLE AT A GLANCE
ADM is creating a Legal Operations Enablement Manager role to lead the next evolution of administrative support across the LARC organization. This is not a traditional administrative role. It is a high-impact operational position focused on coordinating work, improving how support is delivered, and transforming administrative support into a more specialized, technology-enabled, and self-sufficiency-oriented function.

The Manager is responsible for the flow of administrative work across the support team, ensures the right work reaches the right resource, and eliminates unnecessary manual effort through clearer processes, better tools, automation, and training. The ideal candidate is organized, process-minded, and energized by making work simpler and more effectively keeping daily work moving while spotting patterns, fixing friction, and raising the standard for support delivery.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate administrative work: Route and balance incoming requests by priority, complexity, and capacity; maintain clear boundaries across support, self-sufficiency, and escalation; serve as the coordination point between Legal Operations, administrative staff, LARC professionals, and business partners
  • Coordinate and supervise administrative staff
  • Improve processes: Identify tasks to simplify, automate, redirect, or eliminate; redesign workflows to reduce duplication, improve turnaround; convert recurring issues into practical improvements, routing rules, self-sufficiency tools
  • Build SOPs and operating standards: Develop and maintain SOPs, job aids, templates, and “how do I” resources; define quality standards, escalation paths, and handoffs; keep documentation current as tools and needs evolve
  • Enable and upskill the support team: Shift the team toward a specialized, empowered model; build targeted training in intake, workflow routing, and department systems; coach on prioritization and consistent execution
  • Drive automation and enablement: Enable automation for LARC professionals to handle routine needs independently and promote adoption of standardized tools and processes
  • Support visibility and continuous improvement: Maintain trackers and dashboards on workload trends and capacity; use data to recommend changes; prepare operational updates and support pilots and new initiatives
  • Coordinate LARC Chicago Events: Work with stakeholders to ensure all approvals and processes are followed

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Administrative support delivered with greater consistency, transparency, and speed
  • Reduced manual labor and improved workload distribution and coverage
  • Stronger SOPs, job aids, and self-sufficiency resources, with a more capable support team
  • Friction identified early and converted into practical process improvement — a support model that is easier to use, manage, and aligns to high-value legal work

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years in legal, business, or professional-services operations, or administrative/project coordination
  • Strong organizational skills, a process-oriented mindset with SOP and workflow documentation experience, and solid Microsoft 365 fluency (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Clear communicator, detail-oriented, sound judgment, and comfort with confidential information
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting corporate legal, compliance, or complex corporate function; familiarity with legal service intake, matter management, vendor/invoice workflows, or ticketing systems (Onit a plus); experience creating training and job aids; and interest in automation
  • AI-enabled productivity, and operational excellence.

Key capabilities:

  • operational judgment, process discipline, technology fluency, training and enablement, team coordination, and a continuous-improvement mindset

WHY IT MATTERS

  • ADM’s LARC Operations team is building a more scalable, technology-enabled operating model for support, and this role makes that model real.
  • It sits at the center of how administrative work is requested, routed, completed, improved, and taught — directly shaping how the LARC team uses its time, how administrative talent is developed, and how routine work is redesigned for efficiency.
  • For a candidate who wants to move beyond task execution and help build a better operating system for support, it is a meaningful opportunity.
