Charge MedSurg Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg (Charge)
Location: Brooksville, FL
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent – Days/Nights (Rotating Weekends)

Compensation:

• Base Pay: $30.76 – $41.50/hour (based on years of experience)

• Differentials: +$4.75/hour nights | +$3.00/hour weekends | +$2.00/hour with national certification

• Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (Days) | $15,000 (Nights)

  • Paid 2% on first/second paycheck, balance in 6-month increments

• Relocation Assistance: Available, case by case

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Med Surg RN with Charge experience to join a 46-bed unit caring for both medical and overflow post-surgical patients. This fast-paced floor also cares for patients with telemetry needs and some oncology admissions. Nurses typically manage a 6:1 ratio and play an essential role in both patient care delivery and leadership at the unit level.

This role is ideal for RNs with strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to balance direct patient care with supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, patient-centered nursing care in a high-volume med surg unit

• Take charge responsibilities, including staff support, workflow oversight, and resource allocation

• Monitor patient status, administer medications, and intervene in clinical changes

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for care planning and discharge coordination

• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and recovery plans

• Foster a supportive, healing environment for patients and colleagues

Qualifications:

• Current Florida RN license or multistate compact license (required)

• ADN or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required

• Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience

• Must have 1+ year of RN Charge experience, preferably in a hospital setting

• Strong leadership, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills
