About the Team & Business Line:

As a core member of our team - Data Transformation Office, you will be working with some of the industry’s most accomplished professionals to deliver award-winning services for complex fund structures that our clients can depend upon.
Your Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst - Data Governance & Strategy to support our enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This role will be responsible for documenting and maintaining data governance policies, collaborating with key stakeholders to develop governance frameworks, and ensuring that our data strategy documentation remains current and actionable. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, Transformation Office teams, data stewards, and IT teams to streamline data governance processes and improve data accessibility across the organization.
Data Governance & Policy Documentation
- Document, maintain, and update data governance policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the Transformation Office team and business stakeholders to define, refine, and enforce governance policies.
- Ensure that all governance policies are well-documented, accessible, and continuously reviewed for improvements.
Data Stewardship & Business Data Catalog
- Work closely with business units to onboard data stewards onto the business data catalog.
- Provide guidance to data stewards on creating and maintaining data products to enhance data discoverability and usability.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate stakeholders on their roles within the governance framework.
Onboarding Guides & Best Practices
- Develop an onboarding guide for data analysts from various departments to help them efficiently use Databricks for analytics and reporting.
- Create an onboarding guide for IT teams to support them in building data ingestion pipelines and transformation workflows.
- Partner with the central data platform team to document best practices for data management, governance, and engineering.
Data Strategy Documentation
- Ensure that documentation for the organization’s data strategy remains up to date and aligns with evolving business objectives.
- Work collaboratively with data governance leads to translate business needs into well-structured governance guidelines.
About You:
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, data governance, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, and frameworks.
- Proficiency in documentation tools such as Confluence and SharePoint as well as Microsoft suite.
- Basic understanding of data platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, or cloud-based data warehouses.
- Experience with data catalogs, data stewardship, and metadata management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience working with data analysts, IT teams, and data platform engineers to document and implement governance best practices.
- Experience with Databricks and familiarity with data engineering workflows a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA, or HIPAA preferred
- Strong visual communication skills (PowerPoint, Visio)
