Job Summary
The Director of Campus Ministry oversees and advances the comprehensive campus ministry program on the Winona campus. This position is responsible for (but not limited to) overseeing all aspects of campus ministry on the Winona campus including the promotion of the Lasallian Catholic identity of the university, the liturgical and sacramental life of the community, evangelization efforts including ecumenical and interfaith programming on campus, service/outreach opportunities for students, and pastoral ministry.
In addition, this position simultaneously holds the endowed Co-Chair of the Hendrickson Institute for Ethical Leadership (Winona and Rochester focused) in collaboration with the other Co-Chair (SGPP and online focused). The two chairs will be visionary leaders advancing the university’s mission of character, virtue, and ethics (CVE) formation within the Lasallian Catholic tradition. The Winona and Rochester-focused Co-Chair oversees the ethical leadership initiatives tailored to the traditional undergraduate population, emphasizing integration between programs, units, the general curriculum and the student experience while fostering relationships within the two respective communities, Winona and Rochester.
Salary Range: $70,000-80,000
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Campus Ministry
- Oversees, leads, assists, supports and promotes all campus ministry programs within a collaborative team
- Supervises and manages the Campus Ministry Staff comprised of a university chaplain, peer ministers, and liturgical ministers
- Oversees the peer ministry program – recruitment/selection, training, on-going servant leadership development, peer minister student engagement and program offerings
- Coordinates and implements liturgical celebrations (weekend liturgies, daily liturgies, holy days and other special university liturgies, Christmas Light Service, reconciliation services, Baccalaureate, Advent/Lenten prayer services) and other significant Masses and liturgies including weekly adoration and other para-liturgical services. This includes coordinating liturgical ministries (music, lectors, servers, etc.). When appropriate and as directed by the President will work to coordinate (or act as) the MC for major liturgical feasts.
- Attends all major liturgies and collaborates with the peer ministry team to ensure presence at all weekday and weekend Masses
- Directs the coordination of special events such as Lasallian Week of Peace and De La Salle Week
- Oversees faith formation and the evangelization efforts, including ecumenical, interfaith, and outreach/service programming (i.e. Eucharistic processions, adoration, interfaith prayer service, and retreats)
- Pastoral Ministry includes coordinating prayer request notifications, vocational discernment, and spiritual support
- Supports the Chaplain in overseeing the residence hall chapels/oratories
- Advises student groups (i.e. Deprecor, Buddies, S.O.U.L.)
- Sets the program calendar of all campus ministry events in collaboration with the campus ministry team and in consultation with other departments
- Oversees and manages the Office of Campus Ministry budget
- Builds relationships between faculty, staff, students and Campus Ministry
- Maintains a positive working relationship with the Diocese of Winona-Rochester and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary
