Job Description

The position requires significant interaction with cross-functional departments within Telemundo Enterprises, collaboration across other technology portfolios, and excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence and resolve issues.  The Director Business Solutions is part of the TechOps TV & Streaming organization reporting to the Vice President of Business Solutions.

The Telemundo Business Solutions Director provides strategic/tactical leadership and oversight for creating, sustaining, implementing, and driving efficient and effective technical initiatives and processes in support of business objectives. He/she will collaborate with leaders and stakeholders from Telemundo Enterprises, LATAM and O&T as well as the business’ functional areas to ensure proper coordination and execution of activities related to the delivery of technology projects. He/she will be responsible for overseeing multiple areas, including supporting technology rollouts from initiation to project closure; managing governance around technology processes; supporting issue escalations; and reporting tools across Telemundo.

Responsibilities

The Director, Business Solutions Technical Programs & Media Systems will be responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of strategic programs and projects. The Director will also be responsible for working in close partnership with Telemundo Leadership, Product, Engineering, Operations, and other Technical Teams working directly with Telemundo program managers and Business Solutions leaders managing core activities including planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, validation, documentation, and release management.

Job Duties

• Strategizes, implements, and maintains program initiatives and activities that adhere to the departments mission, short term and long-term goals, and broader organizational objectives
• Coordinates the work of multiple operational teams ensuring program goals are reached as quickly and efficiently as possible
• Manages department portfolio and budget to ensure maximum productivity
• Leads, advocates, applies, enforces, and maintains agile best-practices in planning, coordination, documentation development and organization, risk management, implementation, testing, and validation
• Support the Business Solutions team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities to ensure the program's success as a whole
• Ensures that all aspects of program cost, quality, timing, and scope meet business requirements
• Directs the planning and execution of tasks within multiple dependencies to meet and achieving larger organizational goals
• Organizes and facilitate program increment planning sessions and facilitates routine stand-up meetings to ensure the team aligns on daily goals and objectives
• Develop and deliver executive communications and assist in the development of programs and initiatives during the implementation, integration, verification, and certification phases
• Ensures external teams align with all goals and objectives; ensure complete transparency between internal and external teams
• Conducts regularly scheduled project team meetings to review progress, discuss critical issues, make decisions, refine plans, and keep team members informed of changes in requirements to ensure complete alignment with the department strategy
• Identifies impediments and assists the team with removing roadblocks to ensure successful deliverables.
