Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS) Field Service Watchstander (FSW) to join our team! In this role you will get to monitor an airspace for UAS threats, coordinate in real-time with internal and external agencies, provide both operational and technical support for the client’s C-UAS program, and generate reports on UAS events. The C-UAS FSW will work outside the continental United States (OCONUS) in High Threat/High Risk areas as part of a small team with the primary focus of operating and maintaining deployed C-UAS equipment. This job is NOT remote.
The candidate will provide operations and hands-on technical support as required. This position requires some technical skills, personal resilience and flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication, and the ability to visualize all dimensions of operating within the air domain, and the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team in a variety of physical environments.
The client is requiring significant medical screening/examinations/testing for this position. Candidates will receive a contingent offer based on successful completion of government medical requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Monitor multiple C-UAS ensuring real time airspace awareness in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Report UAS events in accordance with local SOP.
- Prepares daily and event driven reports and logs to include storyboard, daily watch logs; distributes as directed by SOP.
- Perform periodic maintenance and emergency maintenance.
- Be prepared to conduct emergency maintenance/troubleshooting/repair.
- Maintains a daily watch log and passes it to the oncoming FSW, Government officials at Post, and the C-UAS Section leads daily.
- Coordinates and de-conflicts known/approved C-UAS operations with Senior Watch Officer (SWO).
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- An Associate’s Degree in unmanned system technologies or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/U.S. military experience with an Honorable Discharge is required.
- Ability to define the various components of UAS
- Ability to define the characteristic of UAS from Group 1-3
- Ability to describe operational characteristics of rotary and fixed wing UAS
- Academic UAS experience through accredited UAS programs.
- Candidate must hold a valid U.S. passport or can obtain a U.S. passport.
- Candidate must be able to obtain a class 1 DOS medical clearance.
- SECRET level Security Clearance required.
- Experience flying Group 1-2 rotary and fixed wing UAS
- FAA Part 107 License
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in computer general operations and knowledge
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or unmanned system technologies.
- Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance
- Ability to work alone or within a group.
- Operational experience with airspace management is desired.
- Operational experience in law enforcement, personal security protection, or DoD air surveillance is highly desired.
- The position requires daily interface with customers at numerous levels. Candidate must possess and use a high degree of tact and interpersonal communication skills in daily interactions with team members, clients, vendors, and end-users.
- Basic understanding of troubleshooting computer and network issues is preferred, specifically basic command line prompts.
- Technical experience installing, configuring, testing, maintaining, repairing, and/or operating system of systems solutions to include passive and active electronic warfare systems, radars, EO/IR cameras, and directed energy or ballistic systems is desired.
- Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) transmission, detection, and deterrence equipment and techniques desired.
- Experience with UAS operation & capabilities; and command, control, and guidance systems desired.
- Experience with ground-based Electronic Countermeasures
