Cruise is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our AV Development Platform team. You will support the new AV Platforms that form the backbone of engineering development both within hardware and cross-functionally across Cruise and GM. This role is at the intersection of hardware, software, and AV technology, as well as at the intersection of engineering and program management.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage programs to design, develop, and launch hardware for new autonomous vehicle products
  • Define, implement, and continually optimize the plan for integrating hardware products into multiple vehicle platforms
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to build and validate new hardware products
  • Capture and track interdependencies among hardware, embedded systems, and software engineers to ensure programs meet requirements for tech, budget, and schedule
  • Align with Cruise’s product development processes
  • Work with Technical Leads to drive complex technical decisions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, track, and mitigate program risks
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to multiple levels of leadership

What you must have:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or similar technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in a technical field with 5+ years experience in Technical Program Management with a focus in Hardware platforms
  • Experience taking a technical product from concept to reality
  • Ability to bring clarity and organization to complex undertakings
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional team
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities

Bonus points!

  • Experience in autonomous vehicle systems and/or the automotive industry
  • Experience with robotics or electromechanical systems
  • PMP certification
  • Embedded systems or Mechanical systems development and test experience

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - 250,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
