About the role
Job Summary
The Transportation Specialist will operate Homeboy Industries' shuttling service utilizing our 15-seat passenger vans and various other company vehicles. The Transportation Specialist will be tasked with performing operator-level inspections on company vehicles and operating the shuttle and various Homeboy Industries vehicles safely and reliably, with minimum oversight as this is a self-guided role. The Transportation Specialist will need to obtain and maintain a Class C Driver’s License, at minimum, and will be subject to random drug testing, if necessary.

The Transportation Specialist will operate Homeboy Industries' shuttling service utilizing our 15-seat passenger vans and various other company vehicles. The Transportation Specialist will be tasked with performing operator-level inspections on company vehicles and operating the shuttle and various Homeboy Industries vehicles safely and reliably, with minimum oversight as this is a self-guided role. Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for transporting Homeboy trainees between Homeboy’s various social enterprises and program locations, based on the needs and requests that arises.
- Load, transport, and unload packages weighing as much as 40 pounds
- Perform operator-level inspections on all company levels and operate all shuttles safely and reliably
- Thoroughly clean company vehicles, as required, on a weekly basis.
- 1-2 years of driving experience and a solid safety record is required.
- Must have a clean DMV driving record.
- Must have and maintain a California Driver’s License (required)
- Time management, self-instructed and a strong sense of people friendly skills
- Flexibility with work schedule. Willingness to work split-shifts and overtime (if needed)
