 Position Summary

The role of the Imaging Tech/Medical Assistant reports to the Clinic Manager. This position works under the direction of the physicians, mid-level providers, nursing team, Practice Transformation Team and Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care within the clinic and assisting with back-office duties.

 

Essential Position Responsibilities


Provide radiology services in a safe and efficient manner as ordered by the physician and within the scope of the individual’s limited license
Collect vital signs from patient and input data into electronic medical record system
Collect specimen via blood draws and non-blood samples for laboratory examination
Prepare patient for examinations and procedures including providing education related to service and obtaining consents, as needed
Assist physician with in-office procedures, as needed
Perform CLIA-Waived laboratory testing, as necessary
Arrange and Schedule referrals to other providers/facilities while coordinating with insurance requirements if applicable
Coordinate appointment details with patients
Maintain medical logs according to policy/procedures established for the clinic
Inventory and requisition supplies and instruments
Properly clean and sterilize instruments using germicides, sterilizers and/or autoclave



Set-up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms



Communicate care needs/services with patient and/or their representative
Answer phone calls and determine how to assist them
Plan and modify care and implement interventions
Provide correspondence to patients on quality metric needs and wellness reminders


 

Qualifications


Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas Limited License in Radiology, ARRT license, or ARRT registry eligible with a temporary Arkansas state licensure, required. Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Phlebotomist, preferred.
Experience: Previous experience with a clerical support role in a medical clinic, preferred. Completion of a medical assistant program, preferred.


Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will require travel between Washington Regional campuses.
