You will collaborate closely with roboticists, mechanical engineers, computer scientists, and machine learning experts to bring cutting-edge technology to life.</span></p><p></p><p><strong><span>Why this job is exciting</span></strong></p><ul><li><p><span>Be part of a team developing a state-of-the-art, human-in-the-loop teleoperations and autonomy stack that enables advanced capabilities for humanoid robots.</span></p></li><li><p><span>You will work with a highly motivated team of robot operators giving instant feedback and using the system to perform useful tasks daily.</span></p></li><li><p><span>See your work deployed globally, where humanoid robots perform real-world tasks in diverse environments, making a tangible impact.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with a team of world-class roboticists, engineers, and AI experts to push the boundaries of robotics and technology</span></p><p><span><br/></span></p></li></ul><p><strong><span>Responsibilities</span></strong></p><ul><li><p><span>Create and implement novel techniques to minimize system latency and computational load.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Utilize GPU acceleration to enhance image processing and inference tasks, ensuring high performance and responsiveness in real-time applications. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Contribute to the development of low-latency vision systems for NEO, integrating cameras, sensors, and image processing algorithms to enhance robotic perception.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Build and optimize real-time streaming solutions within the robot, focusing on efficient compression, decompression, and data transmission under limited compute resources.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Work closely with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate vision systems into the robot's overall architecture, contributing to a robust and efficient teleoperations and autonomy stack.</span></p><p><br/></p></li></ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <ul><li><p><span>Solid experience with Linux and C++ programming.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proven experience building large software applications in relevant domains.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Proficiency in handling memory management and hardware resources in C++/Rust.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Strong skills in using C-APIs to access low-level system resources (e.g., V4L, POSIX, OpenGL, CUDA).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Deep understanding of OS primitives and experience implementing them in real-time systems.</span></p></li><li><p><span>First-hand experience optimizing for low latency and high throughput on modern CPUs.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience working with hardware accelerators through C-APIs.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Background in systems where latency is critical (e.g., robotics, real-time control systems, high-frequency trading, high-performance gaming engines).</span></p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong><span>It will be nice if you had</span></strong><span><br/></span></p><ul><li><p><span>Understanding of modern CMOS cameras and image signal processing. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience with video encoding and decoding. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Familiarity with media streaming protocols (RTSP, RTP, SDP, WebRTC).</span></p></li><li><p><span>Knowledge of forward error correction techniques for unreliable network streams.</span></p><p></p></li></ul><p><strong><span>Location</span></strong></p><p><span>We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.</span></p><p><strong><span>Moss, Norway</span></strong></p><p><span>Our hew headquarter in Moss is a short train ride from Oslo.
