2nd Shift Assistant Coating Operator

POSITION SUMMARY
To set up the extrusion coating machine for coating woven fabrics, to monitor the fabric for adhesion of coating and
uniformity of finished products, and to assist in setting the blend of resins and activities to predetermined percentages.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists the team leader in all areas of the coating line.
• Fills in for the team leader whenever needed such as during breaks and vacations.
• Understands all production paperwork and can maintain accurate records throughout production.
• Sets up the line per the specifications of the production paperwork, such as adjusting edge trim cutters, deckles,
blender recipe, etc.
• Assists the team leader in production trouble shooting as needed.
• Monitors the product and machine by checking finished rolls for edge buildup and other visually obvious
problems such as wrinkles and salvage on edges, and by continuously monitoring gauges and computer reading.
• Conducts cross web checks by obtaining a sample from the coated fabric, measuring the width, cutting into
squares using a jig, weighing and recording individual weights, calculating average weights, and notifying
operator of irregularities in roll being produced.
• Performs housekeeping duties and general line activities such as blowing debris out from under the machines,
cleaning off equipment, sweeping, and emptying trash.
• Responsible for taking periodic samples for Quality Assurance testing.
• Understands all functions of the coater and can assist in training team members on new tasks.
• Supervisory approval is required for decisions regarding changing the sequence of production
