Senior Industrial Hygienist & Group Leader (Asbestos/Lead/Mold)

Role description:
Arcadis has an immediate need for a Senior Industrial Hygienist & Group Leader based out of our Los Angeles or Irvine office. This role will emphasize client marketing, developing relationships, mentoring staff, and growing the Hazardous Building Services practice with clients in the Southern California area as well as other clients nationally.

Role accountabilities:
- Develop relationships with client stakeholders in the Southern California region to identify and pursue business opportunities for Arcadis consultants
- Market, sell, develop, manage, and perform a wide variety of industrial hygiene and safety services in the Southern California area as well as throughout the country consisting of chemical exposure assessments, noise surveys, asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials, IAQ/mold consulting services and a variety of other compliance work within scope/budget/schedule expectations.
- Oversee the preparation of complex project proposals, reports and deliverables; coordinate and conduct the necessary review of project documents with in-house consultants, client representatives, contractors and other stakeholders on team projects.
- Provide leadership, training and management support to all levels of the organization to mentor staff in the IH consulting discipline as a subject matter expert resource
- Partner with other internal Arcadis business lines to grow the Regulated Building Materials market sector presence

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- BS in physical sciences or industrial hygiene, safety, environmental sciences, or related science or engineering fields or equivalent years of experience
- 10+ years of experience in a client-oriented consulting environment with focus on industrial hygiene practice, specifically asbestos, lead-paint, hazardous building materials management, indoor air quality and mold evaluations, and chemical exposure assessments
- State of California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)
- State of California Lead Inspector/Assessor
- A driven go-getter with proven experience in developing new business with natural talent in marketing, networking and building new relationships.
- Attention to detail, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; able to identify problems and implement corrective actions.
- Strong organizational, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to deliver effective presentations and trainings
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. of equipment over the duration of a work shift.
- Must be able to climb and descend a ladder.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring and leading teams at all levels.
Preferred:
- Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or the ability to obtain their CIH within one year of hire
- Current membership with associations related to Industrial Hygiene – ie. AIHA.org
- General understanding of HVAC systems, building mechanical systems, building construction.
- General understanding of building renovation and demolition.
- Ability to work on teams as well as independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Properly trained in the NIOSH 582 or 582 Equivalent course
- Knowledge of applicable OSHA, EPA, and state regulations for asbestos, etc.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZ
