Application Security Engineer, 6+ Years of Experience

We’re looking for an Application Security Engineer to join Snap Inc!

What you'll do:

• Lead high-priority Appsec efforts across Snapchat, driving impactful security roadmap initiatives to completion on time. 

• Conduct in-depth security reviews of applications, back-end services, and business integrations, as well as build tooling for a secure development lifecycle 

• Develop technical solutions to address security weaknesses and work with relevant stakeholders to implement them

• Build systems at scale to prevent classes of vulnerabilities

• Assist with security incident response as needed

• Guide and mentor junior engineers to foster their growth and development.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proven impact in three or more of the following Appsec domains: Application Security Testing (SAST , DAST) ,  Vulnerability Management , Secure Coding Practices, Threat modeling and Security reviews

• Proficiency in application security (security assessments, finding and mitigating vulnerabilities) and driving the implementation of preventative controls in partnership with our product teams. 

• Strong software engineering skills (not scripting or automation) in Golang, Java or similar

• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders whilst prioritizing tasks and work independently under minimal supervision.

Minimum qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience in a related technical field

• 6+ years of experience in the field of Application Security or related security role

• Passion for learning and helping others

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with high attention to detail

Preferred qualifications:

• Solid foundation in web security, mobile security, or cryptography

• Demonstrated proficiency in software development at scale

• Ability to explain complex security issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
