This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
POSITION SPECIFICS
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral scholar.
The final candidate will:
o Develop phase-field models and computer codes of mesoscale structure evolution.
o Study the physics of structural, ferroelectric, electronic, and piezoelectric responses of mesoscale domain structures.
o Assist writing proposals to funding agencies and Penn State seed programs.
o Co-supervise graduate students and undergrad students.
o Prepare manuscripts for publications and research reports to sponsors.
The final candidate must have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, or Physics, or other related fields. Experience in engineering or physical sciences backgrounds and at least 5 years of related experience in computational materials research during Ph.D. and prior postdoctoral research is preferred.
