The Role at a Glance

 

We are excited to bring on a Technical Product Owner to our Enterprise Web Platform organization.

The Enterprise Web Platform organization supports the design, development, implementation and ongoing administration of key capabilities supporting Lincoln Financial Group’s secure website – identity and access management, site registration and login, web experience and content management, cache and search capabilities, and core services to drive user profile, web preferences and access delegation. 

As a Technical Product Owner in this organization, you will be responsible for defining and prioritizing a product backlog for an Agile development team. Working in partnership with cross-functional teams to understand customer and business needs, you’ll work closely with business stakeholders, agile product managers, third party solution providers and software engineering to implement solutions to achieve our organizational business goals and strategic objectives.
 

 

What you'll be doing

 

  • Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for their assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Provides a complex understanding the business and product usage to contribute to the program vision and roadmap development.
  • Translates and conveys the overall business vision into technical requirements and tactics for product development - leads requirements gathering effort on epics and documents story details based on the epics.
  • Directs, advises and collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders to determine Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and goals for complex product offering(s) – including Creation and measurement of team-level business Objectives & Key Results (OKRs).
  • Proposes solutions to stated business problems, assesses alternative solutions, and identifies gaps based on knowledge of the product and how clients use the product.
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and/or management to gather and support prioritization of complex product requirements, providing recommendations, as appropriate.
  • Serves as key decision maker on priorities of product backlog and works to ensure that all stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle.
  • Manages dependencies in and across sprints and releases.

 

What we’re looking for

 

Must-haves:

  • 5 - 7+ Years of experience in Product Ownership / Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, or other Agile-related role within a development team that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position
  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
  • Strong leader, collaborator, team player, and individual contributor
  • Strong communication skills across multiple audiences
  • Effective problem solver
  • Strategic thinker capable of envisioning the future of the product 

Nice-to-haves:  

  • Product Owner or other Agile certification(s)
  • Experience working with enterprise-focused teams, serving multiple customer groups with competing priorities
  • Experience with Annuities, Life Insurance, Group Protection / Employee Benefits and/or Retirement Plan product lines
