The Senior AP Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the full cycle of accounts payable activities, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in managing high-volume AP processes in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the Accounting Team Leader and collaborates with various departments to support the company’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with developing, implementing, and maintaining AP policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Contribute to process improvements and help implement best practices within the AP function. 
• Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger on a regular basis and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Conduct regular AP aging analysis, debit balances and GRNI cleansing.
• Prepare and process weekly and ad-hoc payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior AP staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
• Oversee and manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including the review, verification, and processing of invoices and payment requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of AP transactions into the accounting system and maintain proper documentation for all transactions.
• Monitor and resolve AP discrepancies, vendor inquiries, and payment issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate coding and approval of expenses, including proper GL account assignment.
• Work closely with the procurement team to ensure proper matching of purchase orders, goods receipts, and vendor invoices.
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, reports, and supporting schedules related to AP activities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (preferably SAP ECC or S/4/Hana) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors, team members, and management.
• Experience within SSC/BPO environment.
• Fluent English (knowledge of French or German would be an advantage).
