Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and committed Business Intelligence Analyst to join our dynamic and innovative organization. The Business Intelligence Analyst will work closely with the organization to understand the functional needs of system users and translate those needs into system requirements and design for data reporting at Project Harmony. As a member of the Operations team, the individual will work closely with key stakeholders to implement solutions, converting data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. As our Business Intelligence Analyst, you’ll help us bring our data to life. You’ll work across teams to build visual dashboards, write smart queries, and surface insights that help us serve more effectively and fundraise more strategically.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards for internal decision-making, impact reporting, and grant tracking.
- Write efficient SQL queries to pull data from multiple sources
- Work collaboratively with, and actively participate in, routine discussions with Project Harmony Program Managers to understand organization objectives, identify options, recommendations and reporting solutions to meet these objectives
- Understand complex business requirements and translate into technical specifications
- Direct the implementation of a consistent business intelligence strategy including regular reporting of Key Performance Indices (KPIs)
- Assist in the development and validation of all reporting
- Oversee and ensure the quality of data and structure of the Reporting & Analytics Environment, including the monitoring of Doing Business As (DBA) activities
- Assist in the implementation of quality and information distribution standards and processes
- Develop effective Business Intelligence designs based and data visualization tools such as PowerBI/Excel Knowledge
- Assist with the development and implementation of data quality and data usage standards
- Keep documentation (e.g., file layouts, data dictionaries, business rules, metadata, data models, schemas, data flow charts) inventoried, up-to-date and available for use
- Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation

Requirements
Qualifications
Education and Training
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or a related field
Work Experience
- 2+ years of experience working in a field related to business systems management, relation to public services field(s) preferred
- Experience with building reports using industry standard tools required
- Experience with configuration of content management software, such as SharePoint, preferred
