Job Description

BlueTriton Brands is currently seeking applicants for the Quality Technician position for our Kingfield, ME facility.

Compensation Breakdown
Pay: $25.82 - $26.82 / hour
50 cent increases after 90 and 180 days upon successful reviews
Shift differential paid for applicable hours worked

Schedule:  Day shift - 12hr shift - 6:00 am to 6:00 pm

Relocation: Up to $7,500 relocation package offered

Responsibilities
• Collect samples per established sampling plans from process locations.  Perform aseptic sampling techniques for samples requiring microbiological analysis.
• Perform the required chemical/physical/sensory/microbiological testing on raw materials, packaging, spring water sources, in-process and finished product samples on a regular basis and evaluate the results per the specifications and factory requirements.
• Basic Chemical analysis to include, water chemistry such as pH, turbidity, and test kit titrations for residual cleaning chemicals.
• Prepare microbiological testing media / buffers utilizing proper technique, perform sterility testing and growth promotion to ensure suitability of media for use.
• Monitor incoming water from the spring source pipeline and bulk deliveries.
• Perform maintenance on UV-light reactors such as lamp/ballast changes, quartz sleeve changes and calibration verification.
• Troubleshoot issues with maintenance personnel with system programming or equipment failure.
• Conduct Cleaning & Disinfection activities on water process piping and storage tanks. 
• Monitor and maintain overall hygienic condition of facility by conducting internal audits for quality/food safety programs such as good manufacturing practices, pest control, glass and brittle plastics, etc.  Document findings and develop corrective actions.
• Review and monitor consumer complaint trends and perform complaint analysis as needed.
• Disposition finished product as part of the factory release program.
• Complete projects assigned by Quality Manager.

Qualifications

 Requirements
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science/Technology, or comparable Science field.
• Knowledge of water chemistry and experience working with chemicals.
• Knowledge of microbiological techniques such as preparation of media, reading and interpreting microbial growth.
• Ability to troubleshoot laboratory and operational equipment and work with others for problem resolution.
• Ability to move/handle 50 lbs and stand on your feet for long periods of time throughout the day.
