Senior Software Engineer (Satellite Communications)

Releady is partnering with a leading satellite communications and defense technology company to hire a Senior Software Engineer. Headquartered in Redmond, Washington and backed by over 150 patents, this privately held innovator engineers electronically steered, flat-panel antenna systems that deliver mission-critical connectivity for government, military, maritime, commercial transport, and public safety organizations worldwide. Their technology is actively deployed by the U.S. Army and in global disaster relief operations — this is high-consequence engineering at scale.
In this role, you will serve as a primary contributor on the application-layer embedded software team, owning critical feature development and complex cross-domain problem solving in an embedded Linux environment.

Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)
Compensation: $140,000 – $190,000 base + 10% annual target bonus + stock options

RESPONSIBILITIESFeature Development & Implementation
- Serve as a key implementer of new and existing application-layer embedded software
- Design new features using proven software design patterns
- Resolve defects and performance issues within pre-existing codebases
Architecture & Documentation
- Produce thorough software design documentation
- Apply Unified Modeling Language (UML) where appropriate to communicate design intent
Cross-Functional Delivery
- Support complex, multi-domain projects to meet technology performance and schedule objectives
- Collaborate across software teams on problems that span functional boundaries
- 10 or more years of hands-on software development experience
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, Bash, and MATLAB; linear algebra as a working tool
- Deep expertise in embedded software design and development on Linux platforms
- Experience with SoCs and their corresponding toolchains
- Relational and non-relational database design
- Automated testing using pytest
- Familiarity with UML
- Strong software design documentation practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
