Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
As the WTR Engineering Manager at the Austin Site for Samsung you will be responsible for all Engineering aspects of the WTR Treatment on site. This includes ensuring all Operations, Maintenance, and Projects meet site needs, and continuously improving in these areas as the leader of a world-class team.
In this position, you are responsible for multiple engineering teams, as well as associated contractors and vendors. You will achieve outstanding execution and safety performance in daily 24/7 operations and maintenance of all onsite WTR Treatment equipment. You will guide project teams to develop and execute projects to expand capacity, and improve safety and reliability. You will collaborate with contractors and vendors to complete long term projects to upgrade and expand our electrical infrastructure. You will be a champion of safety and world’s-best performance in all work.
Specific Job Duties:
• Leadership and participation in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance.
• Capital and capacity project oversight, including participating in the design and selection of equipment and options for large scale industrial electrical distribution.
• Drive improvements in equipment and part management, employing lean principles effectively.
• Serve as an ideal representative of the department and site to external groups and agencies.
• Support operations teams responsible for monitoring the site and responding to FMCS alarms.
• Support maintenance teams responsible for equipment planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Ensure compliance to local, state, and national codes and compliance requirements.
• Develop and manage annual expense budgets.
• Support commercial negotiations and establishment of terms related to services and projects.
• Lead the development of safety and quality projects to improve performance and reliability of electrical equipment.
• Continually drive group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction.
Safety Leadership:
• Lead engineering and contractor/vendor forums to maintain a collaborative culture of proactive safety actions and protocols.
• Drive increasing knowledge and competencies of employees to support safety innovation.
