Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Safety and Health Project Manager to join our team in Holland.

 

As a Safety and Health Project Manager, you will:

 

Develop, plan, and monitor corporate-wide safety programs and processes to reduce losses associated with job-related injuries and workers’ compensation and meet governmental regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures corporate safety policies and procedures are followed to eliminate workplace exposure to hazards and improve overall safety metrics.
  • Communicates with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other related governmental agencies to implement safe work practices and acceptable risk levels for new and existing technology.
  • Maintains Haworth’s safety database and issues reports required by governmental agencies to evaluate and redirect safety programs, based on results of injury and illness statistics.
  • Conducts safety training activities as necessary to meet regulations and ensure corporate growth.
  • Mentors site Safety Champions to drive continuous improvement and corrective actions. 
  • Records workers compensation claims and properly documents safety programs throughout North America to maintain safety requirements affecting Haworth plants.
  • Oversees loss control to ensure compliance of recommendations for insurance and governmental regulations.
  • Administers Haworth’s Safety Corrective Action Request (CAR) system; conducts regular safety audits of all plants on annual basis to achieve safety consistency standards within North America.
  • Communicates regularly on matters concerning industrial safety to help mentor, train, and develop Human Resources (HR) Consultants in all aspects of industrial safety while maintaining dotted-line reporting of plant HR Consultants for all matters concerning industrial safety.

Do you have these required qualifications?

 

  • Associate degree or higher, in Operations Management, Health and Safety, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent field. (In leiu of degree, an additional 2 years of work experience is required for every 1 year of education not completed)
  • 5 years of safety related responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategy from detailed and/or conceptual point of view, and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Current and continuing right to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Ability to work and commute onsite daily to our headquarters in Holland, MI without relocation assistance
