  • Flexibility required for evenings and weekends

Role Overview

  • Centralized referral coordination for IU Health Physicians

  • Outbound calls to patients and physician offices

  • Inbound calls from the Referral/Appointment Navigation mainline

  • Use of multiple electronic healthcare systems (EMR)

  • Appointment scheduling, patient registration, and triage facilitation

  • High-level customer service and problem resolution

  •  This position serves as consultation and referral support for the Referral Team, as part of the Patient Access Center

  • Position will be remote

✅ Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience:

    • 2+ years in customer service

    • Medical field experience required

    • Referral coordination experience preferred

    • EMR systems: E-Centaurus, Cerner, Careweb

    • Insurance referral/precertification experience preferred

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Multitasking, attention to detail, and organization

    • Medical terminology knowledge

    • Confidentiality handling

    • Time management

    • Multi-line phone and data entry proficiency

    • Teamwork and initiative

    • Problem-solving and decision-making
