We are looking for a Operations Specialist to join our Logistics & Operations, Operations team. You will join our expanding, continually developing and exciting business and be part of an international team based in Houston, Texas.  

 

Your part in Neste’s journey

 

You will be a team member in the Logistics & Operations Operations team which 
coordinates operations and takes care of logistics for renewable and petroleum product and feedstock shipments as well as takes care of customer service functions. You will be a part of a team involved in the day-to-day proactive planning, implementation and optimization of the commercial contracts. You will apply the operational processes in a consistent and solid manner in executing the shipments by vessel, barge, pipeline, rail and tank transfers from contract conclusion to invoicing.

 

 

In your role, you will

 

• Oversee the workflow of the sub-team and optimize day-to-day activities
• Support the team in operational challenges, grow commercial and operational awareness as well as overall competence in the team in cooperation with the Operations Manager with your in-depth knowledge of cargo operations
• Drive accurate and professional work performance in the team to minimize deviations to the operational processes and limit increases in resulting costs

 

The work includes the same tasks as Commercial Operations Coordinators, for designated areas, with work allocation defined together with the Operations Manager, depending on the workload in the team.

 

You will work closely with external customers, cargo inspectors and logistics suppliers. Your main internal stakeholders include operations team members, sales and supply managers, supply chain planners, finance, laboratory etc. to ensure high level customer and supplier experience. Our work combines commercial understanding with accuracy and cooperation as well as the desire to develop and renew.

Key accountabilities of the job:

• Independently leads and supports the team’s daily performance providing Subject Matter Expertise 

• Analyzing productivity and workload of team members. Keeps team’s workshare document up-to-date

• Participates in recruiting. Onboarding, orientation, mentoring and coaching of new and existing team members

• Participates in performance planning. Follows up on sub team's STI’s. Provides feedback for forward discussions and identifies teams training needs

• Implementation and coaching of Neste templates, instructions and principles

• Ensures desk instructions are complete and kept up-to-date. Coordinates vacation and cover planning

• Participates in team’s business support, value creation and efficiency adding actions 

• Leads their weekly team and relevant stakeholder meetings

• Coordinates team’s Monthly business review reporting. Supervising and approving designated month end closing activities.

• Coordinates internal/external audit requests 

• Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational performance

• Other possible responsibilities and tasks assigned by the management
