Job Description

Dynatrace’s Finance team collaborates with teams across all areas of the organization, providing commercial, operational, and analytical support to ensure that Dynatrace business continues to scale rapidly and efficiently. As the Sr. Director/Director of Commercial Finance you will own forecasting and reporting for Revenue and core SaaS KPIs (ARR, Customers, DBNR%, etc.) while also providing operational and strategic financial support to Dynatrace’s Sales and Marketing organizations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable analyses, optimize resource allocation, and ensure informed decision-making. In addition, you will work closely with the executive team to support board deliverables and external investor communications including the quarterly earnings process. This role requires a deep understanding of SaaS revenue and KPI conventions, aptitude for working cross-functionally, strong business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts effectively.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Own global revenue and SaaS KPI forecasting and reporting, including identification of key drivers, trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Continuously refine KPIs and analytics in collaboration with executive management and business partners to maximize decision-making value.
  • Manage a team to deliver world class business support to Dynatrace’s Sales and Marketing organizations, acting as a trusted advisor to senior functional leadership.
  • Support detailed budget planning, ongoing expense management, and ad-hoc investment case construction for Sales & Marketing initiatives, including capacity expansions, sales incentive programs, GSI partnerships, and new marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Revenue Operations, and Corporate Finance teams to support development of accurate 13-week and longer-term cash forecasts.
  • Champion digital transformation within commercial FP&A area, driving consolidation of top-line and Sales & Marketing planning efforts onto single platform leveraging standardized processes.
  • Work with Dynatrace’s Finance Systems team to address critical reporting needs, including engagement in upstream work to define data sources, build data pipelines, and ensuring compliance with data governance standards. 
  • Support corporate finance team to develop and validate board materials, including distillation of key trends and focal areas at an appropriate level of detail.
  • Provide analysis and insights to support IR Processes, including quarterly guidance setting, earnings scripts, prepared Q&A, roadshow decks, and Analyst Days
  • Build and manage a high-performance team, actively participate in building a culture that is customer-focused and team-oriented
  • Work as a part of the broader FP&A team to understand the company’s financials, analytics, and help the organization to scale thoughtfully

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years of professional experience in FP&A with experience working for a public, global organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or economics required.
  • System expertise in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally with teams.
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized with prior experience having gathered, structured, monitored, and validated data to ensure data integrity and detailed documentation
  • Highest level of integrity and good judgment, with the ability to effectively deal with highly sensitive, confidential information
  • Familiarity with Anaplan, Salesforce, OneStream and NetSuite
