We are actively seeking a highly motivated Customer Escalations Software Engineer for the Hyperscale Line of Business who excels in dynamic, small-team settings. You will get a chance to contribute to innovative product ideas that tackle challenges within massive-scale cloud storage environments.  These new storage systems will allow our largest customers to meet the demands of AI and hyperscale workloads. You will be contributing to innovative solutions using flash storage technologies and software. 

SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE…

The Escalations Engineer or forensics team as we call them here at Pure will help with customer issues and create software to analyze and predict the health of distributed systems that are deployed. It will be your responsibility to own and resolve technical issues coming in from the field that are more technical than what our support team can resolve on their own, to develop next-gen services that will enable real-time predictive analysis of the behavior of all systems sold into the field, and to develop software to protect customers from known issues and help cure anomalies in short-time after they have been detected.

  • Lead investigation and resolution of emergent engineerings problems from the field that require engineering expertise
  • Create and maintain services and tools to diagnose and protect the health of an ever growing fleet
  • Create next generation analytics that anticipate new problems
  • Acquire a deep understanding of Pure's full software stack
  • If you see a problem, you are empowered to pull engineers together and go fix it!
  • Regularly present to the larger engineering team as well as executives about complex engineering issues
  • Interact directly with customers to enable seven-figure sales

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…

You already have a solid background in software development along with experience with linux, system administration, networking, and storage. A history of learning new technologies on the job indicates a strong fit for this role. Ideal candidates will come from Software Development background. In addition, you may identify with some of the following:

  • 4+ years of experience with  Python, Go, C++, and linux and other related programming languages.
  • Natural curiosity, obsessive attention to detail and innate troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and describe in simplest terms
  • Experience with Big Data production environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative approach to addressing technical requirements.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work in an open office environment.

You will be based in Santa Clara.  As this is an office-centric role, you are expected to be present in the office for 4 days a week. As outlined in Pure's Hybrid Work Policy, there will be variations over periods of time, depending on business need.
