Accountant-Senior (Anesthesiology)

Under limited supervision, responsible for overseeing complex accounting projects requiring the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs advanced accounting functions and manages multiple fund sources. May lead or mentor lower level team members.

1. Responsible for processing invoices, variance reporting, financial reporting, processing additional compensation requests and participating in the annual budget process and monthly monitoring. 
2. Oversees project reconciliations and prepares various financial reports.  
3. Gathers, compiles, files, and maintains backup documentation for reconciliation projects utilizing system reporting tools.  
4. Maintains a variety of logs and databases essential to operations.  
5. Analyzes financial reports/records and makes recommendations.  
6. Prepares various accounting statements and reports.  
7. Analyzes financial reports and records, while conducting studies and making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures.  
8. Assists in budget preparation, implementation and oversight of commitments and other transfers.  
9. Extracts and reconciles monthly budget reports.  
10. Reviews and approves vouchers/deposit reconciliations and processes financial transaction requests submitted.  
11. Maintains accounting and audit functions for assigned departments.  
12. Reviews and verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.  
13. Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.  
14. Conducts special studies and develops/recommends improved accounting methods and procedures.  
15. Instructs or assigns accounting tasks accordingly.  
16. Analyzes, compares and evaluates various course of actions with the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of responsibilities.  
17. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's Degree degree in accounting or finance is required.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATION:

• CPA certification with two (2) years of accounting experience is preferred.
