Survey Party Chief

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Survey Party Chief position. This role can sity in any of our Northeast and Mid-Atlantic offices, preferably in Lawrenceville, New Jersey or Valhalla, New York. Be involved in projects with our Survey Geospatial Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact- Under general supervision, use survey instruments to perform various types of property surveys on projects of basic complexity and/or scope, which could include boundary, existing condition, topographic, as-built, subdivision, and profile maps.
- Provides basic professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data, and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications.
- Perform boundary & topographic surveys; engineering design surveys; GPS surveys.
- Ideal candidates will be detail oriented and organized.
- Candidates may interact with clients and the public while in the field and need to represent WSP in a positive and professional manner.
- Assist with surveyor activities for projects of a basic scope and complexity within a district.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, and technicians on assigned survey tasks.
- Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
- Remain current in the latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 3 year of relevant post education experience in in the survey profession and capable of handling topographic surveys using conventional and/or geodetic technology.
- General efficiency in Auto CAD/ MicroStation - capable of downloading and editing field data
- General awareness of land survey principles, practices, process, methods and techniques
- Experience with robotic total station is a plus.
- Valid driver license is required. Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
- Proficiency with survey equipment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Must possess a willingness to learn.
- Must be willing to work in all environments (rural, suburbs, city, etc.).
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $46,800- $77,220
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
