SDM (Stratasys Direct MFG) provides customers with manufacturing solutions that meet their technical and schedule requirements in Additive Manufacturing.
The PME (Process Manufacturing Engineer) group supports this goal with technical expertise in manufacturing, process, materials and applications experience across all Additive Manufacturing Technology offerings.
In this role: you will play a key role in advancing our additive manufacturing processes and contributing to documentation and control of our procedures. Leveraging your expertise in manufacturing, you will work closely with the engineering team to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the successful execution of advanced 3D printing production.
What you will be doing:
Manufacturing & Production
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and workflow:
- Practice Six Sigma Black/Green Belt tools and practices to implement process improvements resulting in higher yields, less scrap, and less non-conformities.
- Practice Lean principles to improve process speed, eliminate wase, and improve process quality, gap analysis tools and analytics to accomplish measurable business process improvements.
- Mature a Kaizen culture to promote operator accountability in process standardization and continuous improvements
- Author and maintain Work instructions, BOMs, process specifications, Gap Analyses, Qualification Plans, Process Control Documents, and reports.
- Train operations, quality, maintenance and fulfilment as processes evolve and mature.
- Design tooling and fixtures and provide written instructions and training on their use.
- Drive CPI program local to the relevant facility.
- Support other departments regarding manufacturing needs and production schedules:
- Support Quality Assurance, Supplier Audits and Source inspections.
- Troubleshooting real world manufacturing process errors. Support, carry out and implement root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Assist maintenance in establishing necessary procedures, controls, and schedules.
- Collaborate with Business Systems to define issues and engineer digital systems.
Process Development & NPI
- Support Stratasys Direct Product Management with executing, and reporting on material characterization, process development studies, product commercialization to bring new materials to Stratasys Direct's portfolio.
- Support Stratasys Direct Marketing by contributing to white papers, and technical talks/ webinars content, gather eligible photos and data to promote Stratasys Direct capacity, capacity, and differentiators.
- Assist PME team in Collaborate with SSYS product teams and assist Stratasys Direct Product Management in developing processes to support new AM machines, equipment, technology, materials and capabilities.
- Represent Stratasys Direct as a AM SME supporting local to facility SSYS events aimed to promote SSYS technologies.
- Conduct technical due diligence on new technologies and processes aimed to expand offerings or accelerate lead times.
