<p><b>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</b></p><p>This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.</p><h2>Refrigeration System Design</h2><ul><li>Lead new product design, development, and validation testing of small refrigeration systems optimized for safety, performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Facilitate refrigeration test laboratory equipment operation, calibration, and updates.</li><li>Share knowledge and lead training of production employees on refrigeration assembly, evacuation, charging, testing, and troubleshooting processes.</li><li>Develop and execute laboratory and field reliability test plans for new products to ensure performance under various conditions (e.g., environmental, thermal, mechanical stress).</li><li>Monitor field performance data and customer feedback to identify trends and potential reliability issues.</li><li>Drive continuous improvement in the product development process by identifying opportunities to enhance compliance and reliability metrics.</li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Regulatory Compliance Administration</h2><ul><li>Lead the development and submission of North American and global product regulatory documentation and listings, including safety listings (UL, CE, NSF), product performance certifications (DOE, NRCAN, NOM, FM), and material compliance (Prop 65, TSCA, PFAS, RoHS, etc).</li><li>Ensure products meet industry standards and regulations by coordinating testing, certifications, and approvals.</li><li>Collaborate with external regulatory bodies, agencies, and third-party testing organizations to facilitate approval processes.</li><li>Complete submission of required annual filings to all applicable agencies.</li><li>Facilitation of federal, state, and local building code product application reviews for structural testing and requirements related to wind, seismic, snow, and other dynamic loads.</li><li>Monitor industry trends along with federal, state, and international regulatory landscape to ensure products remain competitive and compliant with evolving standards.</li></ul><p></p><h2>Cross-Functional Collaboration</h2><ul><li>Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure products are developed and manufactured in compliance with regulatory standards and reliability expectations.</li><li>Communicate regulatory and reliability concerns to relevant stakeholders, including management and cross-functional teams.</li><li><p>Provide training and guidance to engineering teams on regulatory requirements, reliability best practices, and testing protocols.</p></li></ul><p></p><h2>Documentation and Reporting</h2><ul><li>Maintain thorough records of testing, certifications, regulatory filings, and any changes to product designs or specifications that affect compliance or reliability.</li><li>Prepare and present regulatory and reliability reports for management, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field and ten years of relevant experience in refrigeration system design and product regulatory compliance.  A Master’s degree is a plus.  Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li><li>Experience with product certifications, including UL, CE, ISO, or similar standards.</li><li>Familiarity with regulatory requirements in key markets, including North America, Europe, and Asia.</li><li>Electro-Mechanical design experience is preferred.</li><li>Advanced understanding of engineering principles, product design, and development processes.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare technical reports and collaborate with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Superior computer skills and understanding of Microsoft Office programs required.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Physical Demands</b></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
