Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Educational Projects Assistant will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives related to educational research, student learning and marketing and promotional programs for Model Laboratory School.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program at EKU
- Certificate for substitute teaching issued through the Kentucky Department of Education Professional Standards Board
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in educational projects, teaching and/or research.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Job Duties:
- 30% - Classroom Assistance and Instruction
- Help prepare documents/assignments for classroom instructional projects
- Observe/provide student assistance with classroom assignments, as appropriate
- Teach/Provide student instruction for a classroom; o Review/Assess student work o Support the preparation of educational materials and resources
- 30% - Public Relations and Marketing Support
- Assist the Model Lab School Chief of Staff, Strategic Initiatives and Public Relations in gathering, preparing and sharing promotional information and messages
- Assist in the preparation and dissemination of bulletins, pamphlets, presentations and other promotional materials
- Meet with prospective Model students and families at requested events and opportunities to share defined talking points that reflect the P-12 mission and vision
- 30% - Educational Research
- Works with members of the Model administrative team to gather research required for the preparation of grant applications and proposals
- Review and learn about Model policies, procedures and strategic initiatives in order to assist with research needed to develop policy and legal updates
- Gather/Review data for special projects in response to requests from the Superintendent or members of the administrative team
- 10% - Other projects as assigned by the Superintendent or Chief of Staff, Strategic Initiatives and Public Relations.
