Summary
The Child Welfare Research and Training Project (CWRTP) within the Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) department at Iowa State University (ISU) is seeking qualified candidates for a Training Support Specialist. CWRTP provides training administration for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) child protection workforce in the State of Iowa. This position is an integral part of the broader Service Training Team, which includes the ISU Service Training Team, the HHS Service Training Team, and community subject matter experts. They are part of a 3-person training support team supervised by the contract lead.
Responsibilities include:
- providing both in-person and virtual training support services to ensure the successful implementation of course delivery
- traveling to provide on-site support to facilitators and participants
- delivering all training materials, equipment, and supplies
- set-up and tear-down at venues
- collecting, monitoring, and recording attendance
- attending to participant and facilitator needs
This position requires the ability to travel frequently (potentially 3-5 days per week), including some occasional overnight stays. They will possess a high-level knowledge of technological equipment used for training, such as computers and various connections, cameras, speakers, projectors, and recording devices. They will be comfortable working with/on multiple platforms, software, and web-based project management systems (Smartsheet, Teams, Zoom, HHS, and ISU internal sharing systems).
This is a term position with an end date of 6/30/2026, with the potential for renewal contingent on funding.
