CVS is seeking a visionary and strategic Vice President of Learning & Development to lead the transformation of our enterprise-wide learning ecosystem. This role will be responsible for designing and executing a learning strategy that aligns with CVS’s business goals, accelerates employee growth, and leverages cutting-edge technologies to deliver personalized, impactful learning experiences.
Major Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive learning strategy aligned with CVS’s organizational goals and talent priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with senior business leaders to conduct learning and development needs analyses and translate insights into actionable learning solutions.
Program Design & Delivery
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of training programs that drive business performance and employee development across all levels.
Team Management
- Lead and inspire a high-performing team of 700+ learning professionals to deliver over 10,000 learning assets and more than 500 programs annually.
Innovation & Transformation
- Reimagine the L&D function through the integration of AI, machine learning, virtual reality, and personalized learning pathways to enhance learner engagement and outcomes.
Qualifications
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:
- 12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong track record of driving enterprise-wide talent strategies and learning initiatives.
- 5+ years managing large, diverse teams, demonstrating the ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and operational excellence.
- 3+ years of transformation leadership experience, including successful implementation of new technologies, delivery models, and team structures within L&D or HR functions.
- Proven ability to craft and execute a strategic vision that aligns learning outcomes with business goals.
- Strong business impact orientation, with a focus on measurable results and ROI from learning programs.
- Demonstrated change leadership capabilities, guiding teams and stakeholders through complex organizational shifts.
- Expertise in design thinking, applying user-centered approaches to learning experience design and innovation.
- Exceptional stakeholder influence skills, with the ability to build trust and alignment across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Recognized as a culture steward, fostering inclusive, growth-oriented environments that reflect CVS’s values and mission.
- Ability to work Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday / Wednesday / Thursday)
Education
Bachelor Degree required. Advance Degree preferred.
The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: $320,000.00
Maximum: $420,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
