ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a talented and well-rounded software engineer to join our hardworking team!
In this role, you’ll draw upon your past experience to create scalable, resilient solutions for games to exceed player quality expectations; you’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving robust technical solutions to help our partners’ games delight players around the world. You’ll have the opportunity to move between both proprietary and commercially available engines, and you should also possess an openness to taking on new challenges and the flexibility to adapt to them in the moment. An ideal candidate in this role is someone who is passionate about games, and who has a history of delivering great experiences for players regardless of the area of focus.
Please note: We have the internal structure to support someone looking to grow or a seasoned veteran ready to drive from day one. Final levelling (Intermediate vs. Senior) will be determined based on the candidate's portfolio, interview performance, and years of relevant experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Feature Development: Implement, maintain, and collaborate on new features, systems in workflows within proprietary and commercially available game engines.
Critical Problem Solving: Leverage advanced debugging techniques to solve complex problems across multiple systems.
Technical Design: Independently collaborate with designers and product leads to break down technical requirements and bring creative solutions to life.
Code Review: Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and set an example of quality code implementation that adheres to coding standards.
WHAT WE VALUE:
Strong Technical Skills: 3+ years of programming experience in game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal, proprietary), and proficiency with C++ and strong Math skills.
Engineering Excellence: A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, with a focus on quality and best practices.
Feature Ownership: Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining robust
Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Able to frame discussions between engineers, producers, designers, and project leads.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
Passion for Gaming: A genuine passion for video games and a desire to contribute to creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for players.
Interest in Learning: Eagerness to learn about other technologies and practices to stay current and versatile.
WHAT YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:
Console Experience: Experience developing for current-generation consoles (e.g., Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Switch) is a plus.
Mentorship Skills: Previous experience coaching, teaching or mentoring less experienced engineers to learn new technical skills.
