Job Description

Pine Technical and Community College seeks an Emergency Medical Technician Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful
candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at PTCC are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines,

Minimum Qualifications

OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in pre-hospital or emergency care settings.

One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Current Minnesota certification, registration, or licensure as an EMT, paramedic, physician, physician's assistant, or registered nurse.

Teaching and Learning Competency Requirements are to be completed within the first 3 years of employment per Board Policy 3.32 and System Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Qualifications, Part 8. https://www.minnstate.edu/board/procedure/332p1.html.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two-year college

  • Prior on-line experience using D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement

  • Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers

  • Experience in curriculum development at the professional level

  • Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Other Requirements

In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor vehicle Records check.

A job offer will be contingent upon successfully passing a background check. The background check may consist of the following components:
