Senior Software Developer

GNC Holdings LLC, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Software Developer responsible for creating and implementing an array of web-based products using C#, JavaScript, and HTML along with mobile application development. This is a fully remote position, and the employee can work from anywhere in the United States. Specific duties include: (i) analyzing systems software problems and developing technical solutions; (ii) designing, developing, validating, and deploying new business capabilities and solutions based on business requirements; (iii) translating business designs into technical solutions; (iv) maintaining system documentation; (v) providing operational and issue support; (vi) supporting the development of software solutions by developing across platforms/different development environments, building from requirements and detailed design documents, developing/coding from detailed design specifications, and configuring software applications based on business requirements; (vii) supporting solution deployment and validation by supporting system validation and testing, supporting solution integration and user acceptance testing, providing post-implementation support to the business, developing complex system testing criteria, and deploying based on current SoX and PCI deployment standards; (viii) driving standards by recommending functional development standards, software selection standards, and integration standards; (ix) driving and adopting new technologies, including by providing leadership to move current projects adoption of new technologies; and (x) supporting solutions by understanding business processes and current strategies, staying current on related system solutions and technologies, leading resolution of cross-functional and complex application-related issues, and validating that the current system documentation is accurate and complete.

 

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science,  Information Systems, or a related field plus seven years of software development experience in the retail industry.

 

Experience must include five years with each of the following: (i) serving in a lead or senior software development role; (ii) developing mobile apps for iOS and Android; (iii) developing and supporting the Xenia Point of Sale (POS) system; (iv) integrating mobile and POS systems with other retail applications; and (v) developing retail mobile apps for large retailers with distributed locations and integrated enterprise systems.

 

Must also know (from any completed university-level coursework, seminars, workshops, or real-world, hands-on experience) the following: (i) Microsoft tech stack, including .NET framework, C#, SQL Server, and Azure services; (ii) Mobile app POS systems; (iii) Enterprise Mobility apps in IOS and Swift and Objective-C, and iOS frameworks; (iv) Android and windows ecosystems; (v) web technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and web services such as REST and SOAP; and (vi) Agile/Scrum, DevOps, CI/CD software development practices and cloud-based architectures.

 

Experience can be concurrent.
