Your Role and ImpactThe Ops Tech Services – SCADA/Controls (L2) will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and enhancing SCADA/HMI systems, historian platforms, PLC/DCS logic, protections & controls, and OT infrastructure across Intersect Power’s generation assets. Supporting PV, wind, BESS, Gas GenSets, and data center loads, this role will ensure reliable operations, secure integrations, and consistent data flow between plant systems and enterprise platforms. This role will work closely with OT security teams to maintain system health, implement cybersecurity measures, and support incident response. In addition, the role will collaborate with project, operations, and vendor teams to commission assets, integrate control systems, and optimize plant performance. This position will report directly to the Head of Operational Technology and partner with Operations and Engineering teams to drive the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of Intersect Power’s fleet.
Meet Your TeamThe Ops Tech Services Team is a growing group of specialists responsible for SCADA, controls, OT cybersecurity, and data systems across Intersect Power’s renewable and conventional generation portfolio. Currently, the team is expanding to support the company’s rapidly growing fleet of PV, wind, BESS, and fossil assets. This department works cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, IT, and external vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation of Intersect Power’s control systems and plant technology infrastructure.

What You Will do

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain SCADA and HMI systems to ensure reliable operations.
  • Configure, maintain, and validate historian platforms and data structures.
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC/DCS logic; integrate new plant equipment and GenSets.
  • Support protections and controls systems, including relay configuration, logic validation, and integration with SCADA/PLC environments.
  • Support system patching, backups, and endpoint protection for OT environments.
  • Commission and integrate PLCs/RTUs with SCADA, HMIs, historians, and protection systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors on deployments, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices in coordination with OT Security.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation, participate in change management, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of OT/ICS experience with SCADA, HMI, PLC/DCS, historian, and control systems.
  • Experience in power generation environments including PV, wind, BESS, and GenSets.
  • Strong knowledge of protections and controls, including protective relays, control logic, and grid interconnection standards.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, DNP3).Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices, with familiarity in NERC CIP and other OT security frameworks (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST CSF).Experience with system maintenance, patching, backups, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent documentation, vendor coordination, and cross-team collaboration skills.

  • SCADA platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, GE, or similar).
  • Historian systems (OSIsoft PI or equivalent).
  • PLC/DCS programming tools (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or equivalent).
  • Protective relay configuration software and control system testing tools.
  • OT cybersecurity tools and best practices.
