Sr. PSM EHS Specialist

Job Description

Stepan is seeking an Sr. Process Safety Specialist to join our EHS&S team in Winder, GA. In this role, you will report to the EHS&S Manager. The Sr. Process Safety Specialist role will be responsible for overall compliance of the site’s occupational and process safety programs.  This includes ownership, development, implementation, reporting, and continuous improvement of the site’s occupational and process safety programs and supporting the EHS&S functions.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide facility personnel with timely technical support and guidance to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company performance standards, and site procedures.
• Manage key occupational and process safety elements including PSM/RMP compliance programs, contractor safety, industrial hygiene, OSHA compliance, etc.
• Coordinate safety, health, and process safety education and events.
• Active member of EHS&S teams including safety committee, emergency response, etc.
• Support the mission of the Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security group within the company as an EHS&S Professional.

 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of working in a similar or related field within a chemical manufacturing environment.
• General understanding and knowledge of process safety and occupational safety, applicable standards (PSM, RMP, NFPA, ANSI,ISEA, etc) infrastructure, and technological controls.
• Detail oriented.  Technical writing and communication skills are required.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.  Familiarity with public and private information management systems for permits, reporting, and task management.
• Strong working knowledge of occupational safety and process safety regulations.

Education

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Process Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
