POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
• Open and develop a 15 bed technology dependent NICU unit and manage existing 38 bed NICU unit.
• Our NICU was founded in 1961 by Mildred Stahlman, MD, the Vanderbilt NICU was one of the first specialized hospital programs in the world created exclusively for the care of preterm infants. Vanderbilt has remained at the forefront of medical care for babies needing intensive care ever since.
• We are a level IV tertiary care NICU that attends to the complex care needs of more than 1400 fragile newborns per year.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
• 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
• Master’s Degree
• Leadership Experience
• Highly Prefer experience in NICU and experience working in an Academic Medical Center

JOB ROLE
The Patient Care Manager of the NICU is a leadership role that has comprehensive operational authority and responsibility for designated clinical area(s). Their responsibilities include: fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, maintaining a high level of patient/family centered care and service, patient and staff satisfaction, program development, managing and developing teams, and ensuring integration with the clinical enterprise. Provides feedback, coaching and mentoring to less experienced peers and other members of the health care team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborates to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, budgets, resource allocation, operational plans, and policies for the PCC, Hospitals and Vanderbilt Clinic. • Prepares annual operating and capital budgets following established guidelines and using benchmark data. • Develops and monitors the implementation of area specific quality plan linked to organizational goals. • The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.
