About the role
1. As a Storeroom Clerk you are expected to:
* Schedule frequency of subsistence ordering and deliveries
* Prepares a separate order for each vendor
- Check deliveries for freshness, ensure quantities match requested amounts, post item use by dates and assess contract compliance
- Requests assistance from the Military Public Health inspector when necessary and advises the DLA Troop Support account manager when requirements of contract are not met
- Enforce training, storage security, facility cooler and delivery truck temperature inspections
- Able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF programs.
- Able to perform ordering processes using CRUNCH-TIME and STORES systems.
- Reconcile all purchases within the automated system to include purchases made through Subsistence Total Ordering and Receipt Electronic System (STORES) or GPC and provides copies of the order, credit card purchase receipt and reconciled order with the accountant for validation and filing
- Physically count inventory items in storage, kitchen and production areas to input inventory counts in automated systems
- Saves the inventory count and reconcile overages and shortages by utilizing the financial period review process
- Use automated system to transfer subsistence to other facilities
- Coordinates any changes for linking of products through their respective AFSVA/VMF representative and reviews the DLA catalog change report weekly for changes in products
- Coordinates with AFSVC and DLA if new ingredients are not available and initiates a New Item Request as required of DLA
- Conducts Mid-Month and End of Month (EOM) inventories and input data and ensure inventory count sheets are available every 15th and the last day of the month after the dinner period.
- Keep all storage areas secured, issue out items to kitchen, ensure security and accountability of subsistence items in the storeroom
- Weigh and count all food received, thawed, issued, or returned to the storeroom
- Physically count inventory items in storage locations, kitchens and production areas and inputs inventory counts in the automated system
- Uses the purchase order as the back dock receipt when receiving the subsistence. Items not available through the vendor, will be purchased from the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) using the GPC
- Record raw (Inventory) adjustments for substandard or expired items on the waste log
- Walk through the refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage to ensure organization has been maintained.
- Make sure the back dock is free and clear of debris.
- Ensure boxes are broken down.
- Check thaw box, and ensure meats pulled were used. Communicate unused thawed meats with chef/shift leaders & managers for coordinating usage into production.
- Check the kitchen for items NOT being used and return unopen/duplicate items back to the storeroom.
- Make sure items that were put back into the storeroom are properly labeled (item name, time/date information)
- At the end of the shift, ensure the storeroom is clean and presentable, free of clutter and debris.
- Ensure that you comply with these standards of conduct, and you consistently set the example by modeling appropriate behavior.
