About the role

We are recruiting of a Regulatory Senior Scientist to join our Beverages Core Technology and the Foodservice Business unit.

You will also be an active member of the Food Drink Ireland trade association, and a key member of the RASG horizon scanning team with a key responsibility for Nutrition and health claims. As well as an active member of our PAH team in Europe with responsibility around our probiotics and botanicals portfolio and embedding these in region from a regulatory perspective.

 

You will have key interaction with customers and be involved in projects from the forefront with our Commercial, R&D, Quality and Supply Chain teams so will gain exposure other teams. The successful candidate will also be a representative for Kerry at some of our key trade associations, as well as a Regulatory and Scientific Affairs champion for key nutrition topics and supporting the embedding of our Proactive Health portfolio in the European region.

 

This role is based at our Global Technology and Innovation Centre in Naas, Ireland and we require you to be in the office 3 days a week minimum

Key responsibilities

  • You will support the Beverages Core Technology and the Foodservice Business unit by partnering with both Commercial and RDA to develop regulatory strategies, pathways for approvals, and new developments / innovation / commercialization. 
  • Providing customer engagement through regional technical expertise.
  • Working with key Global customers across our Beverages and Food service channel and being a key link to the Food service business unit regarding upcoming regulatory changes and potential impacts to the business.
  • Be an active member of relevant trade associations, and a key member of the Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Steering Group and horizon scanning team with a key responsibility for Nutrition and health claims.
  • You will also be an active member of our Proactive Health team in Europe with responsibility for probiotics and botanicals portfolio and embedding these in region from a regulatory perspective.
  • Be responsible for the completion of all compliance checks for all New Product Introductions and corresponding documentation to support all NPIs and new market approvals.
  • This role also calls for close customer engagement and strong relationship building with customer regulatory counterparts.
  • Providing regulatory expertise to customer visits and innovation days.

Qualifications and skills

In Kerry we understand that people have very different career trajectories and experiences. In order to be successful in this role we would be looking for the right competencies and aptitudes as well as your proven track record of success in a similar role and environment.

  • Degree Science/Food Science/Regulatory qualification
  •  Experience in regulatory or scientific affairs role.
  • Problem solving skills are also a key requirement of the role to aid finding solutions for the customer and for Kerry.
  • Good communication skills
