The Department & Team

The Product Development team is responsible for the development of the product, from initial concept through to physical and digital shoes and delivers high quality, innovative and sustainable products while delivering on company & divisional KPI’s. We closely collaborate with other product development divisions to align processes and ensure efficiencies and partner with a number of stakeholders: design & merchandising, through to supply value chain, buying & planning and global teams. This role plays an intricate part in delivering the brand DNA.

The Position

Responsible for product management throughout the development process, by attending key meetings (e.g. raw materials meeting, proto review, final price meeting, pre-SMS review), and advising on possible improvements of product and margins, to handover for production.

Ensuring quality of product and achievement of margin & sustainability targets throughout the product development process, by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, and vendors. Supports efficiency improvement by ensuring accuracy of data in PLM  and analysing processes and best practices, pursuing effective structures and ways of working

Key Responsibilities

• Manages the development process of company product lines as assigned.

• Works with the nearshore/offshore sourcing offices to control the status and changes to the styles, follows up on deadlines for proto samples, lab-dips, salesman samples, and production approval samples.

• Plans and tracks the development schedule of all products to ensure a timely completion following the predetermined product development calendar.

• Develops products, recommends materials, and construction techniques that meet Design expectations and meet or exceed predetermined margin targets.

• Prepares and participates in adoption and alignment meetings makes collection overviews with design and Merchandising department.

• Coordinates and ensures that all the systems are updated and matching as per internal information (PLM etc).

• Work with the product merch team to clearly understand product attributes and consumer benefits and create product that meets these needs from a performance, fit, comfort, and costing standpoint.

The Ideal Candidate

• Minimum 2-4 years of experience working experience in sourcing and development of Footwear.

• Education: University/Engineering degree.

• Ability to think out of the box, solution orientated and pragmatic.

• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills. High data integrity

• Able to work in a highly productive, multicultural, fast paced environment with a hands-on approach, organized and structured.

• Ability to travel internationally

• Self-driven, pragmatic and business mind set

• Good command of written & spoken English, with Italian/Portuguese/Mandarin will be a plus.
