Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities.
Location: Valdosta, GA; Mount Airy, NC; or Remote (with biweekly travel)
Job Summary:
The Delivery Manager is based at the Leonard plant with operations in the U.S. and has overall responsibility for leading the day-to-day delivery scheduling and execution across multiple retail locations and distribution points. This role provides direct oversight of Schedulers, Dispatchers, Delivery Leads, and Drivers, ensuring that deliveries are scheduled efficiently, executed on time, and aligned with safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction standards. The Delivery Manager plays a key role in fostering team development, building strong cross-functional relationships, and driving continuous improvement in operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Director, Delivery and Distribution and has multiple direct reports.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leads and develops a high-performing delivery operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for shed buildings and truck accessory deliveries, ensuring efficient routing and delivery execution.
- Supervises Schedulers, Dispatchers, Delivery Leads, and Drivers, including performance management, staffing, and coaching.
- Ensures a strong focus on safety, FMCSA compliance, and adherence to company delivery policies and procedures.
- Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal departments (stores, manufacturing, logistics, HR) and external customers.
- Maintains staffing levels appropriate for delivery volume and business demand; recruits, trains, and retains team members.
- Monitors KPIs such as on-time delivery, delivery accuracy, and customer satisfaction to drive performance improvements.
- Communicates proactively with customers regarding delivery expectations, issues, and changes.
- Implements and enforces SOPs for scheduling, dispatching, and load planning to standardize processes and improve efficiency.
- Partners with logistics and maintenance teams to ensure effective utilization of delivery trucks and drivers.
- Supports the implementation and effective use of delivery management and scheduling software.
- Demonstrates adaptability and resourcefulness in resolving scheduling conflicts, late changes, and resource constraints.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Business preferred
- CDL not required, but is a plus
- Certifications such as CLTD or CSCP preferred
- Minimum of 5 years in delivery, logistics, or transportation leadership roles
Travel:
This role requires occasional travel to field locations, approximately twice per quarter, to support store operations, delivery coordination, and team engagement. If based remotely, must be willing to travel every other week to field locations.
